Titanium Lapped Joint FLange has many dimension and classes; they are usually used for elevated temperatures and pressures.

Lapped joint flange is a flange that is loosely attached to the flange of a container or pipe.

The advantage of lapped joint flange is it is deformed, no additional torque is generated on the container or pipe, and it is easy to manufacture.

A lapped flange is a two-part assembly (stub end + backing flange) prized for its rotatability and ease of alignment, making it ideal for low-to-moderate pressure systems requiring frequent maintenance.

Titanium lapped flange, also known as a lap joint flange or loose flange, is a specialized type of pipe flange designed for ease of assembly and specific applications.


How A Titanium Lapped Joint Flange Works:
1. The stub end is butt-welded to the pipe.
2. The backing flange slides onto the pipe before welding the stub end.
3. After welding, the backing flange rests against the back face of the stub end.
4. Bolts pass through holes in the backing flange and a standard flat face flange (FF) on the mating pipe/spool, clamping the assembly together.
5. The actual sealing occurs between the gasket and the face of the stub end (not the backing flange).
