Types of Stub End

 

Long pattern stub end

Compared with the pipe that it is connected, long pattern stub end has a longer length. This design makes it easy to alignment and welding for lap joint flange. It is suitable for applications where frequent disassembly is required.

Short pattern stub end

The length of short pattern stub end is similar to the pipe that it is connected. It is usually used for slip-on flanges. The short pattern stub end is suitable for applications where space is limited, and the flange needs to be close to the end of the pipe.

Production Process of Stub End

A stub end always will be used with a lap joint flange,as a backing flange;both are shown on the image below.This flange connections are applied,in low-pressure and non critical applications,and is a cheap method of flanging.In a stainless steel pipe system,for example,a carbon steel flange can be applied,because they are not come in contact with the product in the pipe.

Our stub end pipe fittings are available in all standard wall thicknesses and in sizes from 1/2 inch up to 2 feet. They are available as ASA-A (long pattern) in Standard or Extra Heavy wall thickness. Also, they are available as MSS-A (short pattern) in carbon steel with all wall thicknesses. We can work with all Schedules of carbon steel and Schedules 5 through 160.
